THE MAN BEHIND THE GUITARS

Hello! My name is Luis Santofimio; I am LouiSaint Guitars founder brand. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia on January 29, 1988. At the age of 14, I started to follow the music path, especially I was interested in how to play guitar. The market for electric guitars during that time was very limited, and it was impossible to acquire one easily. In 2004, with the support of teachers from my school, I decided to make my first handmade guitar. From that time, I was fascinated to become a Luthier, so I dedicated myself to learn about guitars production. I did my academic and technical training in cabinetmaking, paintings, and coatings, also in music; I worked hard for six years to obtain a degree as Industrial Designer Professional.

 

Along with my training as an Industrial Designer, the idea LouiSaint Guitars brand was born, but more than a project as a degree requirement, it became a life project which I have developed since 2013. Parallel to the time in which I studied, I worked as an interior designer. However, in the year 2014, I decided to leave this job and dedicate my time totally to be a Luthier. It was a risky decision because it was an unknown market to me and there were very few stores available in the city.

 

I started my workshop in my house patio, with very few tools. I was supported by some carpenters friends, who lent me their machines, also I told my musician friends what I was making. Through the musicians talking about it, the word of mouth was spread as another bet of Lutheria in the city. Because the progress the brand was having, I decided to expand my workshop spaces inside the house. By the year 2016, I already had recognition at the local level by making guitars for some important guitar players of the local music scene, who keep showing my work proudly.

 

In 2017, LouiSaint Guitars decided to take a big step in its growth as a company by making expansion and move its offices and production area (cutting, carving, painting, assembly) to a place with greater accessibility and proximity to the customers.

 

The purpose of this modernization was impacting directly electric guitars production, making it more efficient and competitive, as well the opening of a new showroom and a sales outlet.

 

My goal is to make my client's dreams come true and take my designs as far as I can.
